The Vaccine Argument is a Freedom Argument

I typically do not engage in debates about whether or not to vaccinate. Mainly because it's a personal choice that parents make based on their own research, beliefs, or convictions. I personally stopped vaccinating my children about 3 years ago. Many people who know me may not even know that because I don't go around screaming about vaccines. If anyone asks me about it, I'll gladly tell them why I don't vaccinate. But it's up to them if they decide to do further research and make the decision on their own.

I do not think that people who vaccinate are stupid, just because I personally believe the risks to be too great, the morality of aborted babies used in creating them to be objectionable, and the greed that fuels the vaccine industry to be concerning enough to cause me to back away from it.

Recently, the debate has been renewed among politicians because of a measles outbreak originating at Disney Land. Politicians such as John Boehner and Ben Carson, who is considering a run for president in 2016, have stated they believe every child should be vaccinated, no exceptions.

I'm not here to debate about vaccines but to discuss the great concern I have for the fact that, otherwise pro freedom conservatives, are screaming for vaccines to be mandatory. I don't expect communist loving liberals to agree with me about respecting a parent's right, although ironically they will advocate the murdering of human children in the womb and "pro choice this and that" but for the good of all children we should give NO choice to parents on this issue. But that's liberals for you. They say they are pro choice, but in reality they want everyone to have no choices but to let government dictate how everyone should live, eat, and breathe. However, I would expect fellow conservatives to be in uproar about someone's, not just parental, but also religious freedom rights being violated by such a mandate.

First of all, many objections to vaccines originate from the fact that fetal tissue from electively aborted babies is used in their making. So if you're against the healthcare mandate because it would force businesses and institutions to pay for employee abortions and birth control, why would you be FOR forcing a parent to inject their child with vaccines created using aborted fetal tissue?

Here's an excerpt from an article talking about this issue in a lot more detail and the process of how vaccines are created:
There is a more recent cell line, PER C6, developed in 1985, which is being used currently in research to develop vaccines to treat Ebola and HIV. The origin of PER C6 is clearly documented. In direct testimony before the Food and Drug Administration’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, Dr. Alex Van Der Eb, the scientist who developed PER C6, stated:
“So I isolated retina [cells] from a fetus, from a healthy fetus as far as could be seen, of 18 weeks old. There was nothing special in the family history, or the pregnancy was completely normal up to the 18 weeks, and it turned out to be a socially indicated abortus, abortus provocatus, and that was simply because the woman wanted to get rid of the fetus.

Secondly, vaccine is a healthcare issue, and don't we all want to be able to make decisions about our own healthcare?  I had it said to me, by a supposed conservative no less, that my rights cease to exist when they impact another person's rights.

Really? What right of someone else am I impacting by not vaccinating my children? They don't have a right not to get sick, sooooo unless there is some other inherent right that's being violated by my choice, I'm not entirely sure how that argument can be made.

And if you want to simply say, "impacting another person" and leave out the "rights" part, well every right I have impacts other people. My right to drive a car impacts other drivers. My right to vote impacts other people, so that's an idiotic argument as well.

But let's take this a step further, there are people ranting about the fact that measles have come back because of unvaccinated children. Well, there is no evidence of that, but let's just say this is the case. If your child is vaccinated, then what are you scared of? If the majority of people are vaccinated then only unvaccinated children will get it right? And since they made that choice, they get what they deserve right?

If your child is not vaccinated because of a medical reason, and you are someone advocating a vaccine mandate for the safety of YOUR child, well you're just a flat out hypocrite. You want other's rights violated but you want you and your child to be an exception. And let's not forget the fact that vaccines shed. A recently vaccinated child can infect others for weeks after they are injected. Here's an excerpt from the CDC about the flu vaccine:

Because LAIV (live, attenuated influenza vaccine) contains live influenza viruses, a potential exists for transmission of these viruses from vaccinees to other persons. Vaccinated immunocompetent children can shed vaccine viruses for <3 weeks

And this isn't just true about the flu vaccine. Here's an article that goes into more details about  Vaccine Shedding.

What this boils down to is personal, individual freedoms coming into question and being attacked, by the right and the left.

Let me ask you this, do you agree with banning sodas, candy, cigarettes, alcohol, donuts, cakes, etc? Did you answer no? Why? Then apply that to this issue and consider putting yourself in the place of parents who don't want government telling them how to raise their children.

If you said no to the above but still demand my rights be taken because you disagree with me, may I suggest moving to North Korea? You may prefer it there.
